IV° Tango Contest – Edizion 2024

A prestigious competition and an extraordinary opportunity to make your talent known. A qualified jury made up of world-famous great masters and an international audience will contribute to the evaluation. The winners will be awarded the title of The Best Tango Talent and a call-up to the artistic cast of the next edition of the Bari Tango Congress.

The invitation provides for an all-inclusive compensation for travel, food and accommodation costs to be paid by the organization for a maximum spending limit of 1200 Euros.

The Contest is open to professional level Dancer Couples and talented and emerging couples from all over the world. The participating couples will be evaluated by a qualified jury made up of the Masters of the Bari Tango Congress who will assign them a score. The 3 couples with the highest scores will win access to the direct elimination evening with public voting which, added to the score assigned by the festival jury, will decide the winners.

The Bari Tango Contest
will take place in 4 phases:

  1. Evaluation/Selection (jury evaluation and selection of the 3 challenging couples)
  2. Final (public vote)
  3. Counting of votes (jury evaluation/public votes)
  4. Awards (by the association organizing the event and the relevant EPS)

Mode of participation and conduct of the Contest:

1. Evaluation | SELECTION

  1. The composition of the jury will be made up of invited masters, from the Bari Tango Congress and qualified masters of international level.
  2. The jury of masters will express their preference among 3 couples who will advance to the final by means of a scoring vote.
  3. the choice must take into account the set of Performances (Piste Tango, Choreography/show)
  4. The choice of the masters making up the jury is not contestable. Participants accept this condition by signing the conditions. If a choice or method is questioned or criticized, you must contact the organization in writing, and not directly with the members of the jury or in any other way other than the form indicated.

2. FINAL

  1. The 3 finalist couples will dance during the closing evening of the Bari Tango Congress, the election of the winning couple will take place by direct vote of the participating public to which the vote previously assigned by the masters in phase 1 will be added.
  2. The final vote will take into account the overall vote, given by the sum of the vote previously expressed by the jury with a weight of 70% and the popular vote with a weight of 30%.
  3. All participating couples will dance a round of farewell to the public during the closing evening of the festival.

3. SCROLL

  1. Counting and determining the result of the popular vote, added to the jury vote.

4. AWARDS

  1. The organization will guarantee participation as invited artists in the cast of the 13th edition of the Bari Tango Congress 2025 or later, in case the following edition is not can be realized.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

  1. Professional couples who have reached the age of majority on the date of the Contest will be selected.
  2. The origin of the participants plays no role.
  3. All participants must register in advance using the method provided by the organization or through the Mail: baritangocongress@gmail.com at the address indicated.
  4. Participation will be confirmed by the organization's management by email, only if the registration fee will be paid in advance and in full.
  5. The number assigned by the organization must be worn on the back of the leader during the Contest for the track tango round only.
  6. All participants must meet at least one hour before the start of the Contest at the relevant (Briefing point), indicated by the organization as the meeting point before the Contest takes place. Couples who have registered, but who will not be present at the briefing point, will be excluded from participating in the contest.
  7. Participants must apply to register with TangOn A.s.d. and to the relevant sports promotion body, after completing the registration form which will be sent by email to the participants.
  8. All participants must confirm that they are aware of the conditions and have accepted them.
  9. All registered couples who will access phase 2 of the selection will dance a theme (not necessarily tango enscenario) as a couple and a ronda with all the other couples, consisting of three tangos from different orchestras.
  10. In particular cases (technical problems, accidents, etc.) the selectors will be able to recall the participants to a repeat, in order to arrive at a definitive selection.
  11. The organization reserves the right to exclude from participation in the Contest couples who:
    1. Do not comply with the conditions of this Regulation
    2. Behave in an ethically incorrect manner, or who through their behavior damage the good name and image of selectors and the organization of the contest itself, or that cause aversion.
  12. Video and audio recordings, photos and interviews
    1. The organization reserves all rights regarding photos and filming of all types, at all times of the contest, through modalities common or otherwise, including video footage, television, recordings of any kind, photographs, digitalizations, authorized directly or through third parties, with the aim of publicizing and disseminating the event. Registration for the contest includes the express and final right of the organization, received from the participants, to the use of the material filmed and recorded, without there being the possibility of any type of request for withdrawal of authorization.
    2. This clause also includes photographic material, without any exception, which will be sent to you. published and/or used for advertising purposes.
    3. All participants accept that there will be video and photographic recordings during the event, and that these can be used by the Contest, for advertising purposes for this edition and subsequent ones.
    4. All participants undertake to contribute to the good name of the event.

  13. Waiver
    1. Refund. Participation can be be collected up to 1 month before the first day of the Contest. In this case it will be refunded fifty percent of the amount (50%). If the cancellation occurs after this deadline, it will not be possible. possible to do no compensation.
    2. Final provisions
      1. The organization reserves the right to change the contest rules.
      2. If there is a version of the regulation different from this document, participants will be informed promptly before regularizing the registration.
      3. The regulation will be available, and displayed, during registration and during the contest.
      4. By registering and participating, participants acknowledge and accept the regulations in question.
      5. If the next edition does not take place due to causes of force majeure and reasons related to organizational difficulties, the winning couple of the call will not have nothing to expect from the organization.
      6. In this case the invitation will be postponed to the next edition.
      7. In the event that the winning couple ceases their artistic partnership, they lose the right of convocation acquired with the victory of the Contest.
